Devil Wears Prada 2

Anticipation of watching again the electrifying characters who showcased the real side of a fashion magazine with down to earth projection was too hyped n over rated n marketed in this sequel.

Very disappointing to see a shabby copied version of the original movie. Is 20th Centuary Fox/ Studios lost its edge in creating magnificent epic pictures or the QUALITY of crew is compromised to the extent that the charm in movie making is buried six feet down?

Questions like, what's Emily doing in the movie? Why Nigel is projected as a spineless,  ambitionless, self doubting, lost, good for nothing, silent slave n supporter of Miranda Prisley? What is the purpose of Benji? Why DIOR is downgraded to penny pinching fish market dealer fighting for ad-space? Not so finally, what's the message?

Who approved Meryl Streep's make up? Her image projected in the original movie is totally and completely tarnished/destroyed. She is aged! Period. Respect it. Age appropriate suttle dignified less pancake projection would have remaind in everyone's mind for a couple of decades more! Sad to see Miranda Presley as an armature in fashion n new to make up bum.

IF I have to do the story line, it would be Andy returning to RUNWAY as Miranda Presley retires from the Frontline. Moving to a Mentor position. Andy enters as a compassionate yet competitive quality demanding leader. With new age digital world, where glamorous fashion is photo touch ups n shabby 3rd grade designs demanded by mass crowd who doesn't understand the meaning of class, Andy makes a change brings breath of fresh air with Miranda's mentoring. 

The plot may bring cast of gen Z new talent showcasing the changing trend who learns n understands learning from predecessors the reins of being in quality leadership! 

Looking forward to better movies. From all film producers. 

The best Death by Chocolate in Hyderabad

Today my search for the best chocolate indulge took a break here at Soho @ TNR North City, Kompally, Hyderabad 

Soho's Death by Chocolate had right amount of sweetness and taste of cholate. The piece of cake with it's unique hard crisp wrapping and soft inside was a delight. 

Going back for another piece? YES. DEFINITELY!

Cinnamon roll

Worst Cinnamon Roll I ever had. I feel abt 0.005 grm or spec of cinnamon powder must have been used in this one piece of roll. It's just bread. Highly priced bakery product. Yeah I even got one raisin. Not at all worth. Once again highly disappointed with bakery product in India.  

Sa.ma - The Indian Kitchen

Sa.ma The Indian Kitchen. Opened Nov 1st 2024. Belongs to Gummadi family. Founded by their grand daughter at their ancestral house. Cozy n beautiful ambience. Veg options available. The staff has positive attitude. Genuine smiles. Professional friendly attitude. Take a moment to walk around. Imagine the lo Ely owners gathering with their family n friends within those walls. Creating memories. We were told that the establishment offers luve-band on weekends.  

Enjoyed our lunch very much. Radha was very attentive in taking our orders n made sure that the spice levels are adjusted. Their mushroom thuppa soup is unique n tasty. Good vegetarian options.

Vegetarian outlet

Devamrutam. Introduced by Instagram. The place is too cramped. 150 sq yards independent house in Jubleehills Hyderabad. So cramped that the server couldn't even put food on our table. He handed over the plates for us to pass on to the next person. When it came to serving rice, he literally showered me with rice as he couldn't twist his arm, hold the rice bowl, bend over to place rice in my plate! My suggestion not more than 5 or 6 in a group. Pre reserve the table. Go before 1pm for lunch. After that, you get only thali. 

Their thali is not so exceptional to comment. The owners could make the whole experience with a twist instead of handing over a menu n say no to every item. 

Staff are very good. Smiling n putting up with customers frustration. Visit to tick off list. 

Not so good

Not so good soy milk in tbe market. I am still trying to understand why the milk at the bottom is thick n disgusting. Why milk is bitter. Why the carton need to be shake well before use? 

I tried other brands. I am used to fresh soy milk. I know packed soy milk. Of all this is the worst. 

Kalki 2898

#kalki2898 .#Prabhas #Movies  If you have seen Transformers, MadMax, Started, Matrix  etc etc, erase everything n step in because you may get disturbed by poor imitation n rough copying n lousy interpretation. OK. I agree that Aswathama is chirangivi n we see him in this yuga. OK. Karna is reborn But why arjuna? HOWWWW? How come Telugu screen is losing it's talent? Savitri, Anjalidevi, Kannamba, Sridevi, s.v.rangarao, anr, ntr, krishnamraju  etc etc were found n proven to be the best. Why are we not encouraging our own but trying to settle with partial talent? Padukone? Ayyoooo. 

Mahabharatam is totally lost with the new gen. So really need homework. Producers really need to distribute a prologue for the movie. Some intro would have been better. 

Car designs were worst. Set design at peak of ugliness. Water is important. Intelligent persons know that without water, humans die within 3 days max 5/6 days.so what's the source of life? Earth is neglected, dried up etc OK. But where is this complex? Who are inhabitants? Are they welthy humans? Aliens? Producers' eagerness to create curiosity has failed totally. Prabhas has lost his ability to dialogue delivery along with his looks. Amma - a lady born to bear God cannot be a mindless bimbo. It's revolting. 

Conclusion is that movies have lost their charm. Anyone who actually experienced marvel of movies in the bygone golden Era cannot appreciate current movie scenario in any angle.

Coconut Water

Another disappointing product. 1 ltr coconut water diluted in 50 liters of water. 

Worst cheese in India

Saw ad on FB. Got excited. Ordered. Received. Disappointed.

The packing was fabulous in silver pocket type to keep the item inside perfectly cold. However when I removed the box, it was not cold. 

When I opened the box, it was filthy smelly. However, mom said, defrost, throw away the water, wash n see. I kept the box on top milk slot of refrigerator n waited for a day. Then threw away smelly water, poured in fresh water. Twice. Washed the cheese n then tasted. It WAS spoiled. Bitter. 

Not just making. But handling n delivering cheese in India still needs training. India is still learning about cheese. The concept is alien to the market. 

Horlicks Mother's Plus

Expected Horlicks original flavour with some more 'added' goodness. 

It's taste n texture are similar to Complan. Just that a little less sweetness. 

Are the companies make is same just the bame game? Looks like Complan, Horlicks buying from same white lable manufacturer. 

Who reads all the story in small print on the box? It's true that baby gets nutrition from mo. Tbeoygh umbilical cord. Mom should consume nutritious food n drinks. 

I doubt that the white powder sold with tag line DHA, Brain development, etc etc is of any good either to mom or baby. 

Time for Horlicks n Complan n other products to prove what they claim. Copy cat Indians, just don't try to copy booze, rubbish of west. Copy West's  consumerism for better lifestyle. 

Ease of life - during that time of the month

One of the cheapest tricks I found in advertising. XL or XXL, the whole development team focused on the length but not the duration of time the pads needed. Normal n heavy flow ladies can simply forget about these. I have gone through the times at different stages of life n can confidently say that college students, working women with even normal flow can simply turn their attention to some other brand, if anything is available. 

I always thought about the convenience of those days for big built ladies. When I saw these in the market, though I am not big built, I bought thinking of the comfort in the night. Yes. There is a difference in length between XL n XXL. Not much but ok. However, because of lack of thickness, it lost its significance. Didn't justify the advertisement. 

These must be selling in the market because of the brand name n the hype created with the marketing budget. Otherwise, this product is not for Indian market. Will last only for a short period of time, till the word spreads. 

Vietnamese Summer Rolls

It's not soup. It's not salad. But a healthy snack n can be a meal! 'Vietnamese Summer Roll'! 

Since I got introduced to it a decade ago, I might have eaten a few thousand in Vietnam and Singapore. At restaurants n  personally made at home.

Here in India I bought the rice paper n noodles in Amazon. Remember. You always have option to return if the product is not edible. I returned one. This is second company. Turned out to be good. I am happy.

For filling, I prepared n opted for different combinations.

Sliced carrots

Sauteed mushrooms

Boiled fresh rice noodles 

Chopped coriander

Dried basil

The best turned out to be carrot, noodle, n fresh coriander. Added sauteed mushroom came in second place. 

Dried Basil substitute to fresh proved to be a bad choice. 

The soy sauce I bought was extremely salty. I made four rolls. Ate one with soy sauce and the rest with Maggie sweet n chilli sauce. 

Though compromised on fresh Basil, soy sauce and peanut sauce, after 2 years made n ate rolls n felt somewhat happy.

Burger King Hyderabad Environment friendly!

The new initiative of Burger King - serves shakes in take-away order in reusable plastic mugs!!! I always felt n believed that Burger King India is not good in offering healthy options. True anywhere in the world their burgers lack sufficient Veggies n pickles. Just bun patty cheese. 

Keeping that aside. Finally Burger King Hyderabad office took one initiative which many of us will appreciate. Reusable shake mug. 

Best online merchant! May 2021

Since last year I was searching for a good reliable online merchant. I love food. Anything vegetarian. I love variety. Any country. Any culture. Any taste. As long as it is vegetarian, I will try. Taste. Sometimes my passion materialises in my travels. Recently I found that I can get online too! Individuals, companies, NGOs, socities, etc there are many who are offering regional n local flavours. 

My recent find n fav is Treddy's! First I thought too many in menu. Kitchen items, tools, snacks, savouries, sweets, pickles. .   hmmm. A thought crossed my mind on quality. Are they another Amazon? Just a consolidator? No direct commitment on quality. A few refund policies to passify customer n escape litigation? Anyway, as a regular online consumer, I jumped in to try their shipments. 

Ordered an iron kadai. Kaimuruku and a few more. In the past few months, Treddy's never disappointed me. High quality. Worth every paisa. All snacks. Fresh. Tasty. Authentic. 

My recent order, delivered yesterday, Jackfruit chips confirmed n sealed my trust. 

The shipment arrived in high quality cardboard box. Very thoughtfully packed in two portions to retain freshness till opened to consume. Aluminium packed tight sealed. Bubble wrapped so that the chips will not get crushed or damaged during transport. So freshly made that I can smell n taste amazing coconut oil! 

Treddy's got my complete trust n loyalty. I am with them till they show signs of compromised quality.

United Kitchens of India

We saw the place a few times as we drove by.  Not a flashy place.  Quite.  We were skeptical about it.  Just by looks.  Today thought of walk-in and quite surprised with the ambience and food.  

We chose Bengal cuisine among the available.  We are delighted with it.  As vegetarians we always reserve our opinion before entering a new place.  I am happy to say that I can recommend this place to my friends who are looking for new flavours.  

We ordered 

Dallas Bora - Chennai Dallas fritters

Coming from Andhra background,  I felt the taste to be similar to masala vada my mom used to make.  However  this version is less spicy,  salty and more tasty.  

Beguni - Eggplant fritters

Anyone who is from Telugu background knows vankaya bajji very well.  This is just it.  

Chorchari - Mixed vegetables cooked in mustard oil

This subji just made us order a bowl of rice and finish the portion.  Mild spicy. No oil floating. Tasty.  Try it for yourself.  

Koraishutir Kochuri - Salted green peas stuffed poori. A few peas.  May be because the season is over.  True batura style.  No opinion.  

Desserts are not mentioned in the menu but available on request.  

 

Our waiter Kalandi man singh was pleasant and knowledgeable in the list if dishes in the menu.  I am impressed. 

The end was my most favorite.  Bill was given to us in an old Camlin school compass box with orange flavored sugar candy.  Sugar candy was my all time favorite.  I am delighted!!!  

Swatch Bharat

We Indians outcasted ourselves so much that we are either just living zombies or on the streets making so much noise that nothing makes sense.

Swatch Bharat. Modi initiated a crazy marketing campaign and EVERONE got excited. Then . . . . . . . . . 

Where are the toilets? Even some government offices are not having proper 'knowledge' of hygiene. Shouldn't the government initiated matters first to be reflected at it's own establishments? 

This week my visit to Medchal Sub-Registrar Office, Telangana proved one more time that Swatch Bharat is a failure. Just wasted public money on marketing. 

I took picture of the way to 'toilet'. There is one single toilet behind iron grilled barricade locked doors for both men and women. The key is with one private owned biz. I am not sure if the toilet is only for all the businesses in the building and they hold the key or if it's owned by one single biz. I went to a couple of ladies in different biz and asked for direction to ladies restroom. I was told there are none. Then my husband went asking around for a restroom and one gentleman gave him key saying it is for both men n women.

The toilet is well maintained though to my shock well kept secret. 

My friends say India fails to implement many programs because of its size. Isn't it the reason why we have a huge administration system? It's high time Indians start demanding an office in every constituency where the local MLA/MP sits from morning to evening and does his/her job. Then at least ppl know who is 'elected' and whether that person is taking care of the constituency.
